Tennis Championships to Use ExactTarget Text Messaging, Voice Messaging, E-mail to Connect With Fans

 INDIANAPOLIS (July 02, 2009) — The Indianapolis Tennis Championships Presented by Lilly announced today it has selected on-demand e-mail and one-to-one marketing provider ExactTarget to power the interactive communications for the eight-day US Open Series event.

 Set for July 18-26, the tournament will harness the power of ExactTarget's integrated Web-based messaging platform to allow fans to sign up for newsletters via text messaging and online, receive personalized voice-messaging updates from tour athletes including Andy Roddick, and participate in on-site interactive quizzes that will allow tournament-goers to compete for prizes via text messaging.

Indianapolis Tennis Championships Selects The Villages as Charity Partner

 INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Tennis Championships Presented by Lilly announced today its selection of The Villages of Indiana, Indiana's largest not-for-profit child and family services agency, serving more than 1,400 children and families every day, as one of its charity partners for the upcoming tournament held July 18-26.

 The primary component in the partnership is a silent auction of children's artwork. Five pieces of tennis-themed artwork created by children of The Villages and autographed by professional tennis players will be auctioned through the week of the tournament, with proceeds supporting the state's largest nonprofit and family services agency. Artwork will carry the theme of "It Must Be Love" and tennis, and it will be presented to the winning bidders during Friday's Pack the House night.

Robby Ginepri Back in Indy as Wild card

 INDIANAPOLIS – Fan favorite and former champion Robby Ginepri is looking to the hardcourts of the Indianapolis Tennis Championships Presented by Lilly to jumpstart his 2009 season. It was announced today that Ginepri is one of the three wild card selections of this year’s tournament that kicks of the Olympus US Open Series.

“Robby is definitely one of the best players in the world, and we’re very glad to have him back in Indy,” Tournament Director Kevin Martin said. “He is not only a tremendous talent, but Robby has a fun, accessible personality that really resonates with our fans and enhances the intimate customer experience we strive to provide.”

International Stars Designate to Play in Indy

 INDIANAPOLIS – International tennis stars ranked among the top in the world have committed to this year's Indianapolis Tennis Championships Presented by Lilly, giving the tournament a great mix of international and American players. Dmitry Tursunov, Juan Carlos Ferrero, Marcos Baghdatis and Arnuad Clement will make their appearance among a player field of 32 and could be among the stars tennis fans get to hob-knob with in the Player’s Lounge in their new Power Hour with the Pros promotion.

Taylor Dent Takes HAL to Center Grove and Fishers

 Tennis pro Taylor Dent recently had the opportunity to share his suggestions for a healthy active lifestyle to over 1,000 elementary students in the Indianapolis area. Convocations for the Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Healthy Active Lifestyles (HAL) Program were held at Center Grove and Fishers Elementary schools on May 20 with the help of Dent and the United States Tennis Association (USTA.) Dent urged youngsters to participate in healthy activities in order to start improving Indiana’s population of four million overweight Hoosiers.

 Students were able to ask Dent questions about his diet and exercise. Dent’s answers highlighted his recovery from back surgery two years ago as well as his favorite healthy foods and exercises. Dent, who told students of his record of fourth fastest serve in the world, placed emphasis on participating in healthy and active everyday activities at school and at home.

Tennis star will share comeback story with local elementary students

 INDIANAPOLIS — Taylor Dent’s success during his young career made him a rising star in the tennis world. Ranked No. 21 in the ATP Tour World Rankings in 2005 at age 24, he was quickly closing in on being among the top 20 in the ATP. Then, in an instant, Dent was out of the game.

 Dent’s resurgence from an injury that kept him away from the sport he loves is one of the many lessons he’ll share with more than 1,000 students at the Healthy Active Lifestyles (HAL) Convocation on Wednesday, May 20, at Fishers and Center Grove elementary schools. Dent will also serve up some tennis techniques and sign autographs at the Five Seasons Sports Club at 4 p.m. The event is open to the public.

 INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Tennis Championships Presented by Lilly announced yesterday that one of the top players is scheduled to be on center court in advance of the tournament. Andy Roddick, No. 6 in the ATP Tour World Rankings will play Tuesday, July 21 at the Indianapolis Tennis Center on the campus of Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI).
